A Powerfully Reclaimed Voice: Astrid's Story
In the past couple weeks, we have been exploring the concept of voice – a process to unlock your voice and tips for how to use it to build your business.
It takes courage and persistence to do this work, to unearth the most authentic version of yourself and use it in ways that connect you to the people you have yet to serve.
In my six years of running REL Impact, I discovered that the greatest thing holding coaches, consultants and service providers back from reaching their deepest potential, and explosive growth, is… the silence of their voices.
So part of my mission has become to help women excavate and amplify their voices of truth to foster deeper self-love and facilitate greater levels of impact.
Meet Astrid.
Astrid is a talented brand strategist and creative director who works with purpose-driven founders to capture the depth and breath of what they do, with beauty, clarity and imagination.
When we met, Astrid was 12 years into building her own brand strategy and design business, though she struggled for many years to make the transition from designer-for-hire to CEO.
She described a sense of not really understanding what was needed to run and maintain a profitable business.
She was working 6 days a week, experiencing burnout, a lack of efficiency, and frustration at not being able to captain her own ship.
And what held her back the most was that she lacked the confidence and know-how to frame and steer conversations around pricing the value of her work.
It may surprise you to learn that the root of Astrid’s challenges in business stemmed from this voice inside that stifled her ability to sing – and, ultimately soar.
Astrid’s story is not unique.
Most of us do not intuitively know how to conquer brain trash, learn the skills of business success, and unearth the most powerful expression of who we are - our voice.
We spend wasted time looking outside ourselves to figure out “who she is” and “what she stands for” when ALL these answers lie within.
Your voice is what the world needs to hear right now.
This is why you surround yourself with people who believe in you, hear the whisper from within and support you in cultivating and sharing it.
Astrid was ready to move beyond freelancer status and take the helm. Afterall, her calling was at stake.
“I think by far the biggest thing for me was asking the tough questions, many of which seemingly had nothing to do with my business and everything to do with confronting that inner voice and asking: Who am I? And what right do I have to occupy this space, even after all this time?”
It’s not always easy to show up and be vulnerable… to be willing to embrace the messiness of it all… and to do it in a group.

Today, Astrid can’t wait to share what she’s learned about the art (and science) of valuing and pricing the world-class service she offers. Creativity as a business model is hard to bottle, but that’s exactly what we did with a proven process that now has Astrid well on her way to doubling her numbers, with confidence, ease, and a powerfully reclaimed voice.
