5 Ways to Experience a Calm First Year in Business
The story you've been told is that building a business is HARD.
The truth?
It doesn't have to be.
There are all sorts of scary statistics out there about how most businesses don't make it through the first year.
And while I'm not going to tell you that building a brand new business is always a walk in the park...
You deserve to know that there are proven strategies that make the earlier business stages simpler and more fun.
Here are a few of the simple things that will help you reach your goals AND enjoy the ride.
1️⃣ Be realistic with your time and avoid taking on more than you need to achieve the results you desire. More does not equal better! Dial into the actions that actually move the needle forward and let the rest go.
2️⃣ Work with what you have/accept your circumstances (i.e. mama role, your part-time job, etc). You're building your business to work WITH your lifestyle - not the other way around. You can prioritize what's most important to you while creating money and impact.
3️⃣ Patience. There’s no sense of urgency here. That feeling of desperation won't serve you (and it certainly won't attract clients to you). Be prepared for the journey of finding out what works for you.
4️⃣ Find your community of support. You may be building your own business, but you don't have to do it alone. A group of women to share the ups and downs can keep you going on your most challenging days.
5️⃣ Celebrate everything along the way (seriously, everything - even tiny wins and moments of growth)! Reminding yourself of the constant growth you're experiencing will help to keep that negative mind chatter that causes hysteria and overwhelm at bay.
This journey of entrepreneurship may not always be easy, but it can be simple and calm.
