Nancy McKay, founder of Amazing Outlook Coaching, started her career in the kitchen & bath design field and then spent 23 years in the energy industry. Even though becoming a Life Coach happened later in life, during her first two careers, she was already using the skills that have helped her become an effective coach. Nancy overcame alcoholism and beat Stage 1C ovarian cancer, and now she’s sharing her story and road to recovery with her clients and through her new role as a life coach. WHY DID YOU START YOUR BUSINESS? 

After my cancer diagnosis and treatment in 2015, I had a shift in my perspective on life. I decided I wanted to do something more meaningful so I enrolled in life coach training. I started my business because I knew that I could make a difference.

WHAT CHALLENGES HAVE YOU FACED AND OVERCOME?

My biggest challenge is having the patience it requires to establish a new business. I want to achieve my goals "yesterday" like many new business owners. It takes time, and I am persistent and determined!

WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE RECEIVED ABOUT RUNNING A BUSINESS: 

Hang in there. Be patient.

OUR “IMPACT” FAMILY IS DRIVEN BY EMPOWERING WOMEN TO ACTIVATE THEIR BEST LIFE THROUGH THE FREEDOM OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP. HOW DO YOU DEFINE IMPACT?

Impact to me means affecting how people think. I strive to make an impact by shattering the stigma of alcoholism.
